From the Empower App in your smartphone, click on the People button on the bottom right of your screen.
Then click on the Add Person button.
Give permissions for Empower to access your contacts if you are prompted to do so.
Your contacts won't actually be uploaded to Empower until you select them in the app, so it is safe and recommended to give permissions to share your whole contact list and then decide which contacts you want to reach out to afterwards. If you do share only specific contacts with Empower, you will not be able to add other contacts later from within the app if you change your mind, and will need to navigate to your OS settings to give the app permission to access additional contacts before you can upload them in the future. Here are instructions on how to do that on iOS and Android.
You can search through your phone’s contacts and select anyone that you would like to add as a contact for your relational organizing campaign. When you find the person that you would like to add, select the button to the left of their name and then click Add.
From the Empower App in your smartphone, click on the My Network button on the bottom right of your screen.
Then click on the Add Person button.
Change the selection from Contacts to Manually, by clicking on the Manually button on the top of your screen.
You can now enter information for your new contact. The only required information for a new contact is under the name field, but you can use a nickname here if you prefer.
Click the Add button on the bottom of your screen to add as a new contact.
Adding contacts is the first step to having conversations that matter in Empower.
