Adding Contacts

Adding Contacts

Whether you are a Director, Organizer, or Volunteer, you can add contacts onto Empower to build your network on the app. In Relational Organizing, these Contacts are people that you can talk to about the issues you care about, whether they are friends, family, or coworkers. The purpose of adding these Contacts onto Empower is so that you can reach out to your communities while keeping track of follow-ups, commitments, and notes. Having them in one place benefits Organizers and Volunteers as they can review previous conversations before following up again. With organizing being 90% follow ups, keeping track of these conversations is essential to recruit, engage, and retain your relationships with community leaders.  This article will walk you through adding contacts. In the first section, we will show you how to add contacts with the Empower web app. The second section of this article will show how as a Volunteer, you can use the Empower mobile app to add contacts. Contacts are people you follow up with via a call to action (such as people you know or a list of people you want to engage) but do not use Empower themselves.
