Create an Account
This article will show you how to create an account in Empower. Watch this easy how-to video, or see the instructions below.
From the Empower App in your smartphone, click on the Get Started button on the bottom right of your screen.
Next, enter your phone number and click Sign up. You can also click Use email to use an email address to sign up. We will send a verification code to the phone or email you provide, so make sure you can access it.
Enter the 6-digit sign-in code that we sent to the phone number or email that you provided to verify your identity.
Next, enter your zip code and press Next. This helps us send you local actions that have impact in your community. You can press Skip if you don't want to provide your zip code.
If you have not already provided an invite code, you will need to join an organization. This is the organization that will send you actions in Empower. If you have an invite code, enter it into the box and press Next. If you don't have an invite code, click Don't have an invite code? and scroll or search to find the organization you want to join and click on it.
Enter your name and press Submit. You can use a nickname if you prefer.
When prompted, press Notify me and approve the pop up notification. This will ensure you receive a notification about actions that your organization is asking you to take. If you press Not now, you will not be alerted to new actions and you will need to enable notifications in settings.
Once you have created your account, you are ready to get started taking actions in Empower.
