Custom Fields

Custom Fields

You can use custom fields to track additional information about users in Empower. Custom fields can apply to Volunteers, Organizers, or Directors, but not contacts.

Creating Custom Fields

    1. To create a new custom field, click Organization in the left hand menu.

    1. Next, click Edit next to Organization Settings.

    1. Scroll to Custom Profile Fields and click Create Field.

    1. Give your custom field a name. You can also decide who the field applies to as well as who has permissions to view and edit the field. For example, a Volunteer ID field might apply to Volunteers, but only be edited by Organizers or Directors. Press save to finish creating the custom field.

    Editing Custom Fields

    1. Custom fields can be edited from a user's page on Empower. Custom fields will only appear for users who have permissions to edit that custom field based on the settings for that custom field. For more information about how to edit a user, see the article on Editing or Deleting People.

    Filtering Custom Fields

    1. If you have custom profile fields enabled for your organization, you can filter to find users that have that field set or not set, or have that field set to a specific value. If you set more than one filter, people will have to match all of the criteria listed in this filter.

Custom fields will allow you to track and filter additional information about your network in Empower.
